The character Tommy, in the book "Shawshank Redemption" is a lot like many people I know in my life. Lots of teenagers drop out of high school and dont ever receive the high school diplomas. Usually when I know people like this, they end up messing their life up even more. Tommy went to jail so he reminded me of a few people that I have met in my life.

The last imagery I have for my group is of the one character in the story, Tommy.
Tommy was a high school drop out that Andy ended up helping out by encouraging him to earn his high school diploma.
Tommy has previously shared a cell with the real killer of Andy's Wife.

The way that this story, "Shawshank Redemption" relates to a real life story is that the OJ Simpson case where OJ killed his Wife and his wifes Boyfriend, or friend. Andy arrives at Shawshank Prison in 1947, after being convicted of killing his wife and her lover.
So in a way this story is very similar. Only one of the main differences is that OJ was let off because nobody could believe that he really did kill his wife.

In the story, Andy makes a friend named "Red" who helps him out, and can help out anyone who wants things in Shawshank. In real life there are many people like "Red" who make acts of common decency just like "Red'' did.
